This pastel was inspired by morning walks through Big Cypress Preserve. There is a kind of modern ballet rehearsal going on, the hues of light shift gradually to place a spotlight on trees which pose in striking stillness. I’ve painted similar scenes in oil, but prefer the delicacy of pastel to honor the beauty.
